Some tips:
The fire road network offers quick ways out or into trails.
You can pop out of UTR at the 4WD clearing to save ~15 minutes of riding on a UTR loop by riding the fire tracks back to the trail head.
A particularly nice one of these is to ride the first 1/3 of UTR, hit the fire trail, ride Smedleys (either way) and out again on the fire trail for a quick way to access Smedleys.
The old Bald Rock Road is good as an alternative exit - it allows you to avoid both Freshwater and Lagoon trail which can sometimes be needed when they are overgrown or too wet.
The Town Common carpark is here and can enable faster access to Smedleys.
